Description

Australian Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (AREMT) Certified

Emergency medical technicians (EMTs) respond to medical emergencies and deliver patient care, support, and evaluation in a pre-hospital setting, like on scene and during transport to the hospital. This generally includes assessing the patient, determining the proper emergency care, and administering treatment. EMTs also help with transporting patients safely between hospitals and care facilities.

EMTs become certified by completing an EMT course and then passing both a knowledge exam and a skills exam. The best EMTs perform well under pressure and in high stress environments.

Course Fees

Students can buy the entire course or a section at a time (this allows flexibility in payments.

Responsibilities for EMT

  • Examine and evaluate patients to determine necessary care
  • Provide patients with emergency care by utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment
  • Document patient information, condition, and treatment
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and perform all care with respect for patient rights
  • Transport patients in accordance with outined policies and procedures
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well-stocked environment for patients
  • Operate and drive ambulance in conjunction with applicable safety policies and laws
  • Provide basic life support and gather patient data

You may be eligible for RPL to the Certificate II Emergency First Response

Duration : 2-3 month AREMT program that can help you advance in your career. You will need to complete the theory and 170hrs to complete your skills book
